Photo of Gary

Gary leads a broad range of transportation, civic infrastructure, public realm, ecosystem restoration, and recreation projects. As our North America leader for landscape architecture, he brings our clients a comprehensive approach to resilient infrastructure, public space design, sea-level rise impact and storm preparedness, natural habitat preservation and creation, and community engagement.

Over his more than 30 years of experience with Stantec, Gary has led the restoration and design of prominent and highly vulnerable landscapes throughout the northeastern United States and Atlantic Canada, and he has advised our extended team on assignments across the United States, Canada, and the globe. His projects of note include redeveloping Yankee Stadium and Central Park areas in New York, interchange reconstruction in Norwalk, Connecticut, and the award-winning Open Hearth Park design in Sydney, Nova Scotia.

Gary understands that resiliency is about public safety and fiscal responsibility as well as sustaining commerce, recreation, transportation, and environmental infrastructure. He’s committed to infrastructure investment that will withstand the broadening severity of environmental and human impacts and enhance the quality of life in our communities far into the future.

Recognized for his work in landscape architecture design and successful collaboration with allied professionals, Gary was elected fellow with the American Society of Landscape Architects in 2009. He is also a member of the Van Alen Institute’s Climate Council, Urban Land Institute, Canadian Society of Landscape Architects, American Institute of Certified Planners, and the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure.
