Stantec’s Paul Taylor takes a closer look at how artificial intelligence (AI) may change project and programme management in the near future

The earned value of a project would traditionally be a question directed to project managers. But times are changing. Artificial intelligence (AI) and electronic assistants such as Amazon’s Alexa and Apple’s Siri can be utilised to gain data insights and make sense of large volumes of information through the use of machine learning.

These assistants, and other emerging technologies, help usher the water industry further into the age of augmented analytics.

As infrastructure client and delivery organisations strive for efficiencies, it is a real possibility that project and programme managers could adapt AI support, such as voice-assisted analytics, to reduce costs, while still providing effective and timely information.

In this online article for World Water, Stantec’s Executive Technical Director Paul Taylor takes a closer look at how artificial intelligence (AI) may change project and programme management in the near future.
