Dave’s responsible for the operational performance of the New Zealand Water business unit and believes that collaborative infrastructure delivery models provide the best long-term outcomes.
What drives Dave is seeing that his people are engaged, busy, and delivering great outcomes for their communities.
He also wants to see them go home safely.
Critical for Dave is reducing the chance that someone gets complacent on a project, makes a mistake, and jeopardises their safety or the safety of others. Underpinning everything he does is raising people’s awareness of health and safety. This means having more valuable safety-related conversations as part of normal team interactions, and continuously questioning, testing, and discussing work.
Despite his risk-averse nature, Dave’s a conservationist at heart and loves getting out on his mountain bike to enjoy the rugged Wellington landscapes, even if his riding mates have to wait for him at the top of every hill!
