Carlo has more than 30 years of experience in research, consulting, and construction for underground and open pit mining. Now a senior underground mining engineer, he has been responsible for managing mining projects from initial analyses, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, to construction and audits or reviews throughout his career.
Among Carlo’s notable projects are different mines for Codelco in Chile—currently the largest block caving mines worldwide. He has also worked with various technical and geomechanical consultancies on other large underground Mines in South America, South Africa, and Australia. Carlo has a Masters in Geomechanics from the University of Los Andes. He has also participated in studies such as international caving study (ICS I and II), mass mining technology (MMT), and hybrid stress blasting model (HSBM).
In his spare time, Carlo enjoys travelling with family, is an active outdoorsman, and can be found visiting lakes and volcano zones in southern Chile—fishing is also a skill of his.
