As Stantec’s Water Institute of Technology & Policy technical leader, Mehran has a vision for a more sustainable future. His work and research have provided holistic solutions for dozens of wastewater treatment plants worldwide, his long-term view is on how wastewater can play a positive role in the future global circular economy.
Mehran’s role is centered around finding sustainable solutions for the world’s environmental challenges by combining innovation, talent, and determination. His focus on wastewater treatment includes biological nutrient removal (BNR) processes, anaerobic digester, attached growth processes and optimization of treatment plants. Mehran is also an expert in mathematical modeling of biological processes and process automation. For plants in Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina, his innovative, non-conventional methods have resulted in both better effluent quality and major cost savings.
In all that he does, Mehran exemplifies his belief that, when you truly love what you do, and you give it your all, magic happens.
